The field trip for the upcoming JSMF-SFI Postdoc Conference will take place on Tuesday, October 3rd @ 1:00pm.

You have a choice of a field trip to either:

1. Santa Fe National Forest - Aspen Vista Trail  (weather permitting)

Aspen Vista Trail, in the fall one of the most beautiful places in the Santa Fe area. This trail is a little less than four miles total with a rewarding view of the Sangre de Cristo mountains. The trail is generously wide,  the views are astonishing. However, when signing up for this please bear in mind that this hike is at 10,000 feet elevation, be sure to bring suitable walking shoes and a jacket, temperatures can be much lower than in town.

Then, dive into the history of Los Alamos, with a walking tour of various sites associated with the Manhattan project as well as a visit to the History Museum. If time we will walk to the Bradbury museum where you can view the projects currently being undertaken by LANL such as defense, supercomputing and environmental breakthroughs.
